The purpose of a FAQ is generally to provide information on frequent questions regarding   ONM.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF ONM

To promote the welfare of the NGWA people in Greater Manchester.

MEMBERSHIP OF OHA-NGWA MANCHESTER

Any person of goodwill and good repute who is an indigene of any of the seven NGWA oriented local governments in Abia state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR AN ELECTIVE OFFICE

Every ONM member shall be deemed to be eligible to be voted into an executive office if he or she has the legal right of residence or an indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

The membership of ONM comes with certain benefits for members and their families as applicable, which is provided in the ONM Constitution such as, marriage rights, ‘bereavement aid’, financial and other supports.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR AN ELECTIVE OFFICE

Every ONM member shall be deemed to be eligible to be voted into an executive office if he or she has the legal right of residence or an indefinite leave to remain in the UK Subject to the provision in (11.1) a member shall be eligible for an elective office if he or she for the immediately preceding 12 months period has maintained a minimum of 75% attendance at ONM General Meetings and is of good financial standing as defined under (6.18) of the Bylaws; A member eligible for an elective office must also be of good standing. A member is deemed to be of good standing if he or she, not only abides by the ONM Constitution and Byelaws, but also upholds the declared objectives and purposes of ONM and shares in its visions; and For a member to be eligible to be elected, he or she must have been a member of ONM continuously for a minimum period of 24 months immediately preceding the election year. All nominations to be elected, or to contest for election must be made with a Nomination Form (Appendix 3) and received by the electoral committee no later than the end of April in the election year..
